Pondering my Perspective
The Autumnal (Fall) equinox is upon us. According to the Farmers Almanac today at 4:02 EDT Fall begins. The turn of the Seasons is signaled by the rotation (elliptical path) and position of Earth in relation to the Sun (and other planets).The Earth is tipped sideways towards the Sun (as opposed to the usual North (up) and South (down) position. And from now until the Winter then Vernal (Spring) till the Summer. Equinoxes (where Earth changes its position again and again) on Earth we will rotate slowly on our usual elliptical path seemingly having less daylight time and it gets dark earlier different than from in Summer when there is more daylight and it gets dark later. And then begin the cycle all over again.I’ve always been a sky watcher day and night. I mark time by the phases of the moon. I start with the new moon as it grows (waxing) to to a full moon. Then from the full moon as it appears smaller (waning) from our perspective, to a crescent moon.The turn of the season from fall to winter, reminds me it’s that time of year again. The last quarter of 2017. October Hunters/Harvest or Blood full moon is next up. Halloween, Thanksgiving and then Christmas. Finally the 2018 New Year (Rosh Hasanna (is the Jewish New Year) from yesterday’s sunrise till today’s sunset) that starts on January 1st.I can hear the line from a song “there’s is a season turn turn turn and a time for every purpose…”. It’s time to get busy for the holidays ahead and wind down to gear up for another year.I welcome the energy and light received from the Sun during this timeframe. I consciously gather. store and utilize the energy and light downloaded from this season. I am gratefull for the blessings bestowed upon me at this time.
