Highly intelligent and a curious child, she excelled academically. She graduated early from High School with college credits and majored in structural engineering with a concentration in Nano Technology. A passion for cooking prompted her to attend Cordon Bleu courses. Her exploration into medicine compelled her to enroll for her prerequisites at a Pharmacy Tech college.

Alex is a naturalized Herbalist. A Root-worker is a person who identifies herbs and combinations of herbs to heal what ails and she has intuitively and academically mastered rootwork as a healer.
Ancestral gifts are a real thing if you are aware of and develop them. Great-granddaughter of the first Black Doctor in the state of Florida Dr. Alexander H. Darnes. The only daughter of a mother with island roots, Catholic upbringing and self-taught theological /esoteric subject matter, her spiritual/healing gifts are strong from both her maternal and fraternal sides. Healing is in her genetic makeup.
A pharmacology dropout (due to the school‘s closure) she continued her studies and research in pharmaceutical medicines and substitutes of said medicines with herbs or natural medicines. Inspired by the need for a natural as opposed to pharmaceutical chemical addiction and appalled at the varied life-threatening contraindications of most modern medicines, she explored alternatives. When she looked at the books that were always on the bookshelves at home. She saw The Herbalist. The bookshelves were Mostly about herbs, aromatherapy, mandalas, meditation, and yoga.
A successful Etsy business of said herbs (loose and organic) teas, simple syrups, and by-products such as self-care bath products, and the selling of adorable Apothecary cabinets internationally was interrupted by the birth of her 3rd child.
Using her talents in engineering, she continued building and creating recipes of herbal medicines that heal on a molecular and cellular level. Cooking and creating combinations of concoctions of teas, elixirs as well as helping spread the knowledge she has of herbs
